When one year closes and a new one begins, hope is ushered in.
While we’re busy making our New Year’s resolutions, the master of new beginnings is waiting quietly in the wings, whispering hope into our hearts, just like this:
“Forget about what’s happened;
don’t keep going over old history.
Be alert, be present. I’m about to do something brand-new.
It’s bursting out! Don’t you see it?
There it is! I’m making a road through the desert,
rivers in the badlands.”
This is our great God of hope doing what God does best… assuring us that the past is the past; filling us with hope; cheering us on into this new year; encouraging us to keep moving forward; holding our shaky hands every step of the way.
I’m excited to announce that here on the blog, I’ll be starting something brand-new, and I want you to be part of it. Beginning next week, I invite you to join me for a fourteen-week online Bible study.
Each week, we’ll meet one of the fourteen women and girls whose heart-touching stories are explored in Love Letters from God: Bible Stories for a Girl’s Heart, my newest book, coming in April.
Some of the fourteen women are well-known, some are not; some are named; some are not; but all of them have one thing in common—each woman is deeply loved by God.
Through the pages of the book and the words shared here, we’ll meet real-life women such as Hannah, The Hopeful Girl; Rahab, The Brave Girl; Martha, The Busy Girl; and Mary, The Grateful Girl.
You don’t need anything to join me in this study. No prerequisites are required. You don’t need to buy the book, you don’t need lots of time, you don’t need to be a Bible scholar.
All you need is the willingness to spend just ten minutes with me one day a week, and a heart that’s open to what God will show you.
My hope is that as we study these stories together, each grace-filled encounter will reinforce to all women just how much God sees us, knows us, cherishes us, and loves us with a love that is higher, longer, wider, and deeper than we could ever imagine.
I can’t wait to begin exploring the lives of these women with you, and to hear what God might reveal to you through their stories. As I penned the words on the pages, I truly felt God’s Holy Spirit stirring in my soul in a way I have seldom felt before. I hope you will experience that too.
If you know someone who might enjoy this online Bible study opportunity, please share this post with them.
See you next Monday, as we step into the new year with Eve, The First Girl.
