I never thought, when I stepped into the cold waters of the River Jordan seven years ago with my sister that I would one day dedicate a book to her. But here it is… Baptized in the Water, my first book on baptism!
Baptized in the water,
Like Jesus long ago.
God’s Holy Spirit dances,
As waters gently flow.
Baptized in the Water explores the varying ways to be baptized and focuses on the one important thing: in baptism, we all belong to God. Read on to peek at the gorgeous illustrations by Anna Kazimi and to enter the four-book giveaway!
Written in a combination of prose and poetry, this premium picture book begins with Jesus’ baptism at the River Jordan and then showcases all the different ways to be baptized…

Any baptism is very special! I still remember when I was baptized. I had weights on the bottom of my dress to keep it down when I entered the water.
Oh, how great. Elaine, that you were baptized at an age when you could remember those details. I was baptized as an infant, so no memory of that for me! Thanks for entering!
My daughter and I were baptized together when she was little in the church and same minister who performed my marriage.
Oh, Robin! How special! I don’t think I knew that!
This looks like a lovely tool to use in our Children’s Ministry library. I can’t wait to see it!
Thank you so much, Jill. I’m glad you entered the giveaway!
I feel so privileged to have this beautiful book dedicated to me. I will never forget our River Jordan experience. It is perhaps my most treasured memory ❤
Mine too, Pauline.
My favorite baptism memory? How to choose just one? When my sister sang a song she wrote at my child’s baptism. Or maybe when my foster daughter’s mom was baptized.
Both of those sound so special, Ann!
I was baptized at the age of 13 and remember it clearly. In the Lutheran Church we baptize as infants most of the time, then renew your baptismal promises when you get confirmed. Well, being that I was 13 and could answer my own promises, I technically didn’t have to go through confirmation. I did go through it to be with my friends and learn more about God. My friends thought I was nuts to not opt out of it.
How wonderful that you opted to do it anyway Cathy!
When my twins were born it was the middle of the covid pandemic. We had hoped for a large celebration with all our church friends and family, but everything was shut down, and our church was having live stream only.
Our pastor did the baptism, in an empty quiet church, which actually made it more intimate and allowed us to more deeply reflect on the situation and prayer. Our loved ones were still able to view online live, and flooded the screen with comments. It turned out to be very nice after all.
And you won’t ever forget it, Brandi!
On IG I shared about when I baptized a child, but here I will share a treasure of mine. I was baptized at the age of 24. I am naturally a very shy and introverted person, but on the day of my baptism I volunteered to go first, in front of a huge congregation, I was so excited to declare in front of everyone that I choose Jesus and that He is my savior, that nothing else (not even my fears) mattered!
How wonderful, Tahasha. Thanks so much for sharing that!
So happy with the book. Where can I buy it for my great grandchildren??
Hi Rose…the book is available on Amazon. (If you purchase it there that would be great since you can then leave a short review) or you can order it through your local bookstore. Thank you!
What a beautiful memory! It is special that you and your sister got to experience that together!
Brooke, it is our favorite memory of our time in the Holy land. (We’ve been together twice!)
I too was baptized as an infant so have no memory of the event, have fond memories of
the day my daughter was baptized and how special it was.
Thank you, Muriel. Glad you entered!
My daughter (age 14) was baptized this past Sunday, on Easter! I’d love to share this book with our kids ministry (of which I’m the director!)
What a wonderful day to be baptized, Stephanie! I’m glad you entered!
My favorite baptism moments were when my son and daughter were baptized. I love how the whole congregation was involved with the ceremonies.
I bet that was lovely, Tracy!
My favourite baptism memory happened back in November 2021 when my baby girl was baptized by her Opa and Pastor of our church. It was especially sweet because my darling 6 year old daughter was standing up there with us. She just couldn’t wait to be a big sister and was so full of joy for her baby sister’s baptism. She was thrilled that baby was now a child of God and helped us put a little lamb for Willa on the quilt of other lambs.
No wonder that is your favorite baptism memory, Sara! Thanks for sharing.
Thanks, everyone, for entering. The winner from this website is Brooke Young.
I was baptized here at https://lhhouston.church/ministries/baptism/ years back and these pictures here really reminded me of when I was baptized myself! I can now say that I am a full pledged Christian and I was welcomed into God’s great Church!
Thanks for sharing that, Peter.
They, as well as https://lhhouston.church/ministries/baptism/, are outstanding ministries that I truly think give baptism a high priority and fully educate their members about its significance. similar to how I was before my baptism. Our pastor explained to us the significance of this event for a Christian and what it truly symbolizes for.
